CHA Examination at all India level is conducted by the Directorate General
of Inspection, Customs & Central Excise (DGICCE) in terms of Regulation 8 of Custom
House Agents Licensing Regulation (CHALR), 2004. The examination consists of two parts Wtitten & Oral vide Notification No.30/2010-Customs (NT) dated 08.04.2010; it is conducted once each year.
As per Board's guidelines, 5th September every year is fixed for the written exam.
In 2012 one oral exam on 29th, 30th & 31st March, 2012 and one written exam on 5th September, 2012 were conducted in which 691 candidates in oral exam and 954 candidates in written exam were appeared.
Subsequently, the marksheets for oral and written exams were prepared after compiling the marks obtained by the individuals in the
interview conducted by the 5 different Interview Boards constituted for this purpose and evaluating answer sheets of the written examination respectively. Finally, the marks sheets for the
examination have also communicated to the concerned Custom Houses / Commissionerates accordingly.
Further, the said examination will be conducted as per new Regulation introduced as "Customs Brokers Licensing REgulations, 2013"
issued vide notification no. 65/2013-Customs(N.T.) dated 21.06.2013. As perCBLR, 2013 the written exam will be conducted by the DGICCE in the Month of Jan, 2014.
